Our Story
Family recipes, a 2007 backyard get-together and one big idea: African food on every table.
Every great dish starts with a memory
Ours goes back generations. The founders of Jollof Republik grew up in Nigerian households, where recipes weren't written down; they were inherited. Passed from grandmother to mother, and eventually into hands that would one day turn family tradition into a brand.
Married for over two decades and raising two sons, the couple behind Jollof Republik has spent years turning the kitchen into the heart of their home: a space for experimenting, blending cultures, and cooking up dishes big enough to feed a crowd of family and friends at weekend get-togethers and backyard barbecues.

2007
It was during one of those gatherings, back in 2007, that something clicked. A bold pairing of Jamaican jerk seasoning and African spice, folded into a pot of smoky Nigerian jollof rice, became an instant favourite. That single dish sparked an idea: what if African food didn't have to stay confined to pop-ups and word-of-mouth restaurants? What if it could sit on shelves next to everything else: accessible, convenient, and just as loved by newcomers as it is by those who grew up on it?

That question became a mission.
After years of testing recipes, gathering feedback, and refining the vision, Jollof Republik was born. It was built to bring hassle-free, chef-made African meals into everyday life, without sacrificing the depth of flavour that makes them special.
What began with vending machines in university halls and NHS hospitals has grown into something bigger: a brand with its sights set on kitchen tables everywhere, with the ambition of becoming a household name not just across the country, but around the world.

The tasty bit
Every dish is built around bold, carefully balanced spice blends, crafted by chefs who know the difference a pinch of the right seasoning makes. Meals are flash-frozen the moment they're finished, locking in flavour and nutrition, so what lands on your plate tastes exactly like it did the day it was made.
